Illustration Work

Hey guys!

I told you I'd be back soon! I've put the polymer clay jewellery making on the back burner and have wanted to concentrate on drawing and illustrating more. I've always wanted to do more stationery work but have put it off as it does require a lot more work than the polymer clay jewellery (and with a full-time job, it's hard to find the time!) But I LOVE drawing and illustrating too much to avoid NOT doing it any longer.

This year I intend to do more illustration work and bring it more to my store. I love how it looks and also that people are able to use them (in all different kinds of ways). I plan to make writing sets, notecards, envelopes, lists, planners, party favours, stickers, prints etc with them! We'll see how it goes.

So here is the beginning of the first project. The 3 bears. So far I have been experimenting my illustration style on Papa bear. The one on the left has no inking and is purely on shading while the right has a defined black ink outline. I have asked everyone around me which they prefer and so far it's 50/50! So I have an important question to ask all of you... which do you prefer?

Bookworm

Hey guys!

Merry 2010! Ha! I know it's already January 25th but this is my first post in the new year. I've been very slack once again but I have a few different things up my sleeve. I will tell you about them soon!

For now, I am facing a new challenge for myself. One of my lovely girl's I work with read 51 books last year! I thought it was an amazing feat and wanted to complete one myself. However, I am quite picky when it comes to reading. If the story does not grab my attention in the first chapter... I give up! That's bad isn't it? Anyway... to push myself into reading more I plan to read 30 books this year!

So far I have already read one book! Red Leaves by Paullina Simons. I read The Bronze Horsemen series a while ago and I don't know why I didn't pick up any of Paullina's other titles sooner. She's an amazing author and very easy to read.

Currently, I am reading another one of her books called Tully. So far, it's been a easy and great book to read. I'm just about near halfway and have my next book lined up - Sweet Little Lies by Lauren Conrad. And yes, I am a The Hills fan. I read her other book last year L.A Candy and liked it. I couldn't put it down and it's because I am a The Hills fan. That explains it all.

Do you guys have any other suggestions? I've been recommended a few by my friends but am interested in what your fave books are?

NEW ITEMS: PDF Birth Announcements!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years? I did! Except that it has gone way too fast and weather down under has been pretty dismal! The sun has not been out to play and I havn't had much beach time! My new years resolution: to pay more attention to my Etsy store and fit more exercise into my life! What's yours?

I have posted up four different Birth Announcement designs in my store! They are all PDF printables, so all you need to do is send me the baby's details, and a gorgeously cute high res photo of your new arrival and I will send you the made up PDF for you to print and send off to as many people as you like!

Pretty nifty right?

BTW: it's my bday tomorrow! It comes around so quickly! I think I'll go see the new Sherlock Holmes movie and maybe get a massage? Looking forward to what ever happens!

Happy 2010!
